North Norfolk’s coastal cuisine and countryside charm has landed it among the UK and Ireland’s top food spots.

Praised for its blend of "fresh local seafood in a postcard-worthy setting," the area was included in the Michelin Guide's list of best food destinations outside of London.

Cromer crab and coastal samphire were highlighted as key ingredients that inspire menus throughout the region.

"Coastal regions often make the best holidays for food lovers," the guide said.

"It’s the combination of fresh local seafood in a postcard-worthy setting that people find just too hard to resist.

"The north Norfolk Coast is no exception, with ingredients from the famous Cromer crab to the salty samphire that grows so well here powering the menus."

The guide highlighted a trio of Michelin-starred restaurants - The Neptune, Morston Hall and Meadowsweet.

It also recommended more affordable options, including Sculthorpe Mill, which holds a Bib Gourmand, and The Gunton Arms near Cromer.

Other notable venues listed in the guide were Socius, The Old Bank, The Grain Store, The Ship, and The Conservatory.
