A vintage-style tearoom is charming customers with its coffee, cakes and countryside setting.

The Travelling Teapot in Old Buckenham has already been winning the hearts of visitors just two months after opening.

Run by Megan Cattermole in a converted horsebox, the tearoom is a drawing customers from across the county and recently earned a five-star food hygiene rating.

"It has been really positive so far and everyone has been supportive," Ms Cattermole said.

"I love seeing people chat with coffee and cake - you can’t beat a slice of Victoria sponge and a cup of tea.

"It is also nice for them to enjoy the peace and quiet."

She added that receiving the highest hygiene rating was a "relief" and hinted at future plans for the business, which is nestled in a fenced-off paddock close to a scenic walking trail.

Ideas include a mums and children’s group for the school holidays, as well as an adult-only evening featuring a charcuterie board and wine.

Ms Cattermole’s inspiration for the horsebox tearoom came during the Covid-19 pandemic, when many people began hosting events at home.

And on May 2, she brought the vision to life when she opened the trailer for the first time.

The Travelling Teapot, based at Snetterton Farm just outside the village centre, offers tea, coffee, cakes and breakfast bagels and occasion cakes are also available to order.

It is open on Saturdays from 9am to 2pm.
