A financial service could be lost at a city department store as part of a nationwide restructure.
The John Lewis department store in All Saints Green could be among the 30 to close its bureau de change service.
The brand told the BBC that the closures are due to falling demand and changing customer habits.
A spokesman for John Lewis said: "As we focus on modernising this proposition to meet our customers’ changing needs, we're proposing to close our in-store foreign exchange bureaus as well as our gift wrapping service.
"As a result, we're regretfully consulting with partners who currently deliver these services."
The retailer said more customers are now ordering foreign currency online for store collection, or opting to use credit cards or digital payments while travelling abroad.
There will also be changes to its gift wrapping services, which the company said will now be moved to tills to improve accessibility and will affect 25 stores.
The proposed changes are part of a broader restructuring under chair Jason Tarry, who took over in 2024 following a challenging period of job losses and store closures.
