New landlords of a village pub are delighted to have the "heart of the community" back as they celebrate their early success.
The Kings Head pub in Belton has been officially back open for nine weeks after landlords Kerry Cummings and her husband Stephen took over the reins.
They have been enthused by the reaction of the locals to the re-opening of the pub, which had changed several hands since 2023.
Mrs Cummings said: "The community has been absolutely wonderful.
"It is nice to see the heart of the community open and they feel safe coming in here.
"It has been every emotion you can imagine. It has been amazing, frustrating at times, a full-on rollercoaster."
Mrs Cummings, who has decades of experience working in and running pubs across Norfolk and Lowestoft, started refurbishing the pub after getting a lease in April.
The landlords have since spent more than £20,000 doing the lighting, replacing the furniture in the bar, getting the wallpaper painted and working on other jobs.
The commercial kitchen is up and running and chefs are now serving up a new steak and grill menu with all meat sourced from local butchers.
Mrs Cummings and her partner have also set up a senior citizens club from 2pm to 4pm on Mondays and are about to begin bingo nights on Tuesdays at 7.30pm.
She added: "I am proud of how much we have done in such a short time.
"I just have a goal of what I want doing and at what stages.
"The public think it is amazing what it is becoming."
They have been busy during the World Cup with around thirty people coming for England matches but will not be open for the 1am last-16 knockout game against Mexico on Monday.
Their next projects for the pubs are to decorate the pool room and toilets and "totally revamp" the function room later this year.
