A racecourse in Norfolk has announced changes to race times this week as temperatures continue to soar.
Great Yarmouth Racecourse has said its races on Friday will now be held at 10.30am, with gates due to open at 9.30am.
A total of seven races will be staged, with the last race taking place at 1.30pm.
The Met Office has forecasted temperatures up to 34C in the town during the day, as an amber warning for extreme heat remains in place.
In a post online, a spokesman for the racecourse said: "Due to forecasted high temperatures later in the day, race times have been brought forward to support the welfare of horses, jockeys, stable staff, racecourse teams and racegoers."
It added that all bookers will be contacted.
The changes come after a Met Office amber weather warning was extended until 9pm on Saturday.
A rare red heat-health alert, meaning there is a risk to life even for healthy individuals, is also in place this week.
