Another Norfolk shop could be banned from selling single cans of alcohol in an effort to reduce street drinking.

Police are attempting to impose the measure on Romanesc and Baltic Market, on Great Yarmouth's King Street.

The street is in an area of the town where police and other agencies are trying to reduce antisocial behaviour associated with street drinking.

The shop's licensee, Dorota Woloch, has applied to sell alcohol from 8am to 10pm, in line with its opening hours.

However, officers have asked Great Yarmouth Borough Council to impose a restriction that alcohol can only be purchased in multiple packs.

GYBC's own officials have also advised councillors to impose the single can ban.

The proposals – including the restrictions called for by police – will be considered by the authority's licensing committee next Friday.

A similar condition was recently imposed on Express Store and Post Office, on St Peters Road.
