Sarah Taylor has resigned from her role as Norfolk's PCC

Sarah Taylor has resigned today (June 4) after officially becoming Norfolk's fourth police and crime commissioner (PCC) in 2024.

Before taking on her role as PCC for the past two years, Ms Taylor quit her job as a road safety expert and remained standing as a district councillor for Toftwood on Breckland District Council.

Mark Stokes, chief executive for the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Norfolk, announced Ms Taylor's resignation and said: "I can confirm that today, Thursday 4 June, I received Sarah Taylor’s resignation as Police and Crime Commissioner for Norfolk.

"She has resigned with immediate effect.

"On behalf of the Office, I would like to thank Sarah for her service as Police and Crime Commissioner and for her contribution to policing, community safety and criminal justice across Norfolk."

Mr Stokes said he will be working with the relevant authorities to ensure that all necessary legal and governance processes are followed and that further information will be provided once the next steps have been confirmed.
