Lifeboat crews rescued two people and their dog after they were left stranded by the tide.
The incident happened on the west side of Wells Harbour on Thursday afternoon.
Inshore lifeboat Peter Wilcox transported the group to the main beach after volunteers from the National Coastwatch Institution (NCI) reported the incident to HM Coastguard.
A spokesman for Wells RNLI said: "Thank you to the NCI volunteers for their swift actions and continued partnership working with Wells RNLI crews and HM Coastguard."
Crews are reminding people that tides and channels around Wells can change quickly and if they find themselves getting into difficulty at the coast, they should call 999 and ask for the coastguard.
Visitors to the beach are also being encouraged to check tide times carefully and return to safe ground at least four hours before high tide.
