A classic musical will be lighting up the stage with tap-dancing, romance, and comedy on board an ocean liner.
Anything Goes is being performed by the Lowestoft Players at The Players Theatre in Lowestoft, a former fishing bethel.
The show, which runs from May 21 and May 30, promises audiences a lively evening set aboard the S.S. American on its journey from New York to London.
Clarissa Place, assistant director and cast member, said: "Anything Goes has delighted audiences for more than 90 years since it arrived on Broadway in 1934 and since then has seen some of the biggest names in theatre bring the show to life.
"We are looking forward to welcoming audiences onboard for a packed evening of laughs and glamour.
"The cast have worked incredibly hard and are excited to put on a great show that’s delightful, delicious and very much delovely."
The musical features a 30-strong cast and includes well-loved Cole Porter songs such as Blow Gabriel Blow, You’re the Top, It’s De-Lovely, and the title number Anything Goes.
Performances run until Saturday, May 30 and are part of the theatre group’s busy calendar of shows in the lead-up to its 60th anniversary in 2027.
The production follows a long tradition of high-quality theatre from the Lowestoft Players, who were established in 1967 and have become one of East Anglia’s leading amateur dramatic societies.
They typically stage two musicals, one play or revue, and one pantomime each year.
These are performed either at the Marina Theatre or at their own 200-seat venue, the Players Theatre, which also serves as a rehearsal space and social hub.
The society has more than 100 active members involved in all aspects of theatre production, both on and off the stage.
