A new banking hub has opened in a Norfolk town.
Ben Goldsborough, MP for South Norfolk, cut the ribbon and officially opened the branch in Wymondham High Street on Friday.
He called it "a real honour".
"Banking is back in Wymondham and it matters," he said.
"With all of the big five banks operating from one accessible town centre location, this will make a vital difference for local residents, businesses and especially those who still rely on in person banking services.
"Mark, the branch manager, told me they’ve seen more footfall in the first three days than he did when opening another branch in north Norfolk.
"That shows just how needed this service is.
"Protecting access to banking on our high streets is incredibly important and I’m proud we’ve secured this for Wymondham."
Following talks with the MP, Nationwide previously committed to keeping its Wymondham branch open until at least 2030.
Five banks closed their doors in Norfolk last year, leaving many without a local branch to go to.
Thetford was the worst hit area, with two branches closing in 2025 alone.
