A couple have celebrated 50 years of marriage.

John Hill, a resident at Oaklands Nursing Home in Scole, and his wife Ros marked their golden wedding anniversary with a weekend of celebrations organised by the care home team.

The couple met in 1973 at a dance in Debenham and quickly began a lifelong journey together.

The couple, who spent a year working together at the Diss Express in 1976, have three children and seven grandchildren.

Their anniversary was celebrated with a private dining experience at Oaklands, complete with Chinese décor and a takeaway.

The following day, friends and family gathered for a party featuring live music from John’s favourite band, Sons Of Mark.

The Hill family has become closely involved with the Oaklands community since John moved into the nursing home.
