A man was rescued by a lifeboat crew after the boat he was on overturned.
It happened at Wells at around 1.30pm on Saturday.
Wells RNLI’s volunteer crew launched the inshore lifeboat, Peter Wilcox, after receiving reports of the incident.
When they got there, they found an overturned day boat in the outer harbour approaches.
A man was in the water nearby.
He was brought aboard the lifeboat in minutes and cold and fatigued, but did not require medical treatment.
After taking the man back to the station, the crew returned to move the day boat which was posing a risk to other marine traffic.
Chris Hardy, lifeboat operations manager for Wells RNLI, said: "When a vessel overturns, entering the water can quickly lead to cold water shock.
"Staying with your vessel makes you easier to locate and provides flotation.
"If you do find yourself in the water, remember to Float to Live: tilt your head back, relax and control your breathing."
