A nurse is running the London Marathon after shedding three stone when her "confidence hit rock bottom".
Kayleigh Gallant, 28, from Long Stratton, said that being overweight affected her "more mentally than physically".
"I’ve always been someone that would try any physical activity and not let my weight stop me," she said.

"However, my confidence hit rock bottom when I reached my heaviest – 14st 1.5lbs.
"I’d always wear baggy clothes and choose the ruched dresses to try and hide my stomach."
She described the supportive environment she found after joining a Slimming World group.

Ms Gallant said: "Everyone at group welcomed me from the very first day and have continued to play a huge part in my weight loss journey.
"Attending and listening to people’s advice is so inspiring and definitely gives you a reason to turn up each week."
Following Slimming World’s Food Optimising plan and active lifestyle programme, she began running again and embraced regular exercise.

She has even secured a place on Slimming World's 2026 London Marathon team, which is raising money for Cancer Research UK and Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Ms Gallant is running the marathon in memory of her nanny, who died from cancer in 2024 at age 67, and in support of her sister, who is currently going through cancer treatment.
Lynsey Hannant, her Slimming World consultant, said: "Kayleigh is a true inspiration to us all and we are so proud of her.
"She is proof that when you believe in yourself, stay determined, and are supported by people who understand your journey and care about your progress, your weight loss and fitness dreams can become a reality."
