Railway lovers will once again be able to tuck into a British classic as they enjoy a train journey through the Norfolk countryside.

A fish and chip train experience is set to return to the North Norfolk Railway with 26 journeys announced for 2026.

Ticketholders will enjoy an evening out on the railway with cod and chips cooked in beef fat from one of Sheringham’s "top chip shops".

Diners will be seated in either the Gresley Buffet Car, restored to its original condition with its 1930s art deco interior, or in one of the 1950s British Railways carriages.

The ticket includes travel, fish and chips and a locally-made tub of Ronaldo’s ice cream to finish. There is also a licensed bar on board for those looking to enjoy a tipple or two.

The trains run from Sheringham to Holt and back with the return journey taking approximately 90 minutes.

The “Norfolk Fryer” steams out of Sheringham from April 1 to September 30, with advance booking absolutely vital for these popular trains.

Tickets start at £87.50 for a table of two.

Gluten-free and Vegetarian options are also available.
