The reopening date of a town's post office has been pushed back by a further four weeks.

Watton Post Office is being relocated to the former Boots branch in Chaston Place.

A new convenience store will also open inside.

Originally, the move was to be completed by March 4, with the current branch on the town's High Street having been scheduled to close for good on March 1.

Delays then pushed the closing date back to March 15, with a reopening at the new site being earmarked for March 21.

Now, a further delay of four weeks means the current High Street branch will close on April 5.

The new branch in Chaston Place will then open on April 10.

The postmaster, who will continue to run the site following the reopening, "firmly believes that the move will help secure continued access to Post Office services locally and support the viability of their business".

The new site in Chaston Place will feature two serving points and will maintain its previous hours, with the addition of a travel money service.
