A mother-and-daughter team have said they are "overwhelmed" by the response to their new café.

Kate Gedge and her mum, Debbie Davison, have officially opened the doors to The Nest Café.

It is located in the former premises of the Deepdale Café at Dalegate Market, an independent shopping site just off the A149 in Burnham Deepdale.

Ms Gedge and Ms Davison first launched The Nest as a horsebox café in 2021 and have spent the last few years serving at events and attractions.

Despite their success, they have always dreamed of having a bricks-and-mortar premises.

They had been serving at Dalegate Market for some time and jumped at the chance to move into the unit once it became available just before Christmas.

After getting the keys on January 1, they started renovating to make the space their own, setting out to create a warm and cosy environment for people to relax in

The venue opened on February 12, right in time for the February half-term.

Reflecting on a busy first week, the pair said: "We’ve been overwhelmed by the number of people that have already visited us in the short time that we’ve been open.

"In particular, it has been incredible to meet so many of the people who have followed our journey online and to hear their lovely comments upon visiting the new café.

"People are amazed at the new look of the café and they really appreciate the warm welcome that they receive.

"For us, it’s been wonderful seeing people sit for so long, with their friends or family, enjoying the space that means so much to us both.

"We’d like to thank everyone involved in our journey since getting the keys, for their amazing support and help - we couldn’t have done it without them."
