A Norfolk-based event has been nominated for an award at the UK Bhangra Awards 2025.
The Thetford Mela, which is part of the Festival of Thetford and Punjab, is up for a chance at winning the Best Events category.
This event is held by the Essex Cultural Diversity Project and was originally inspired by the last Sikh Maharajah of Punjab, Duleep Singh, who settled in Norfolk in 1854.
Indi Sandhu, director of the festival, said: "The festival is growing every year and it's a great achievement for us to be recognised nationally."
The Mela was part of the festival's 2025 finale.

This year, the event was held on the grounds of Thetford Grammar School and featured dance performances, henna art, crafts and Indian food.
Mr Sandhu said: "The event brings together local people with the Punjab and Sikh community in a cross-cultural celebration.
"Sikhs from all over come to honour Duleep Singh and enjoy the festival."
The 12th edition of the Bhangra Awards will be held on December 20 in Birmingham.
Mr Sandhu added: "This nomination gives the event the recognition it deserves."
