Reepham volunteers join forces to tidy up 'neglected' town

The Big Reepham Clean Up, a newly formed volunteer group, hopes to make the Norfolk town “look inviting” through a series of litter-picks, weeding, and various other public space restorations. 

The organisation has been set up by Ryan Glover, who lives in the town. 

He said: I’d like to see Reepham looked after and to be honest some areas look neglected.

“I know the council can do something about it but it will take weeks if not months to sort out.” 

“I’m trying to put together a team of volunteers to help just give it a clean up and make Reepham look inviting.”

There are a host of areas the group is looking at working on.

Cawston Road, the Market Place and Stimpson’s Piece are among the areas of the town being targeted.

Mr Glover added: “There’s weeds and grass growing through the gaps on curbs and pavement, some plants are overgrowing on the street and there’s a wall near the spar that will fall if the plants are allowed to continue to grow.”

The clean up’s Facebook group has already amassed nearly 100 members, with the first effort pencilled in for September 20.
