Further details have emerged following the discovery of a body in a Fenland river yesterday

Police were called to the River Nene, at Nene Parade, Wisbech, at about 11.45am on Monday July 14 after a report was received of a body in the river.

Officers remained at the scene throughout the afternoon.

Cambridgeshire Constabulary have since confirmed that the body is that of woman. 

This morning, a spokesperson for Lincolnshire Constabulary added: "The body found in the river at Wisbech was a woman reported missing from Lincolnshire yesterday."
