A multidisciplinary dance piece exploring motherhood is coming to Norwich Theatre.
On June 27, choreographer Emma Zangs will present Playtime, a 45-minute solo dance performance.
The piece, which uses movement, rhythm, and light projection, aims to portray what Zangs describes as "the wild, emotional, and transformative journey into motherhood."
The performance includes contributions from drummer and soundtrack creator Cath Evans and multidisciplinary artist Robin Fuller, who uses projection mapping to add visual textures.
The audience will be seated on stage, creating an immersive experience.
Conventional seating and wheelchair access are also available.
The performance marks the end of a two-month research and development process, supported by Theatre Royal.
Local mothers and families helped shape the piece during creative sessions with Zangs, poet Helen Vine, and textile artist Alice Bygraves.
These sessions provided a supportive space for participants and enriched the emotional and visual language of the piece.
After the performance, there will be a chance to learn more about the R&D process and share reflections.
The event takes place between 4pm and 6pm and is free to attend, but booking is essential.
