Sheringham Tesco speed bump removed from car park

A speed bump dubbed 'Tesco speed mountain' was causing pandemonium in Sheringham due to its size and position, reportedly leaving disabled motorists in pain and elderly passengers "horrified".

The awkwardly placed sleeping policeman became the subject of ridicule by locals on social media.

Neal Wylde, from Beeston Regis and who comes to the store for essentials, started a campaign which poked fun at the bump with a series of posts involving mountain-based scenarios.

He was delighted to see the speed bump had been removed.

Mr Wylde said: "It is a victory for the common man.

"They might have looked into it a bit more and realising placing it on a bend was not the most sensible thing to do.

"The social media campaign might have helped. 

"They do not want bad publicity."

The tight bend in the car park is now free from the bump (Image: Submitted) Tesco had previously said that the speed bump was of standard height and did comply with Highways guidance. 

Tesco was approached for a comment.
