A 30-year-old entrepreneur from Norwich died after taking illegal drugs, a court has heard.
The body of Matthew Peart was discovered at his home in Spencer Street, off Bull Close Road, on the evening of April 8.
An inquest into his death opened at Norfolk Coroner’s Court on Thursday.
The court, based at County Hall, heard that Mr Peart’s medical cause of death was due to combined cocaine and ketamine toxicity.
He was also suffering with acute pyelonephritis, which is a type of kidney infection.
The brief opening was heard by the area coroner for Norfolk, Yvonne Blake, and has been adjourned until later in the year.
The inquest to determine the official cause of death will take place at the court on September 13.
Mr Peart’s father confirmed via a coroner’s officer that his son was born on October 13, 1993, in Shropham near Attleborough. His occupation was given as entrepreneur.
