A new free gig series in Norwich city centre will shine a light on up-and-coming musicians.

Access Creative College (ACC) music students will take to the stage in HMV on the lower ground floor of Chantry Place.

The 'HMV Live and Local' showcase will run over two consecutive Saturdays on June 1 from 3pm to 4.15pm and June 8 from 3pm to 4.30pm.

On June 1 is Majic and Cheers! With Lewis Maxam and on June 8 is Glass Ceilings, Amourette and The All Tomorrows.

Dan Foden, head of campus at ACC Norwich, said: “Being able to work with such an esteemed, important music brand to further boost grassroots music is a privilege.

"We can’t wait for our students to wow audiences at the Live and Local showcase.”

Racheal Everson, assistant manager at HMV Norwich, said: "The UK music industry requires a constant flow of fresh new talent to ensure a strong future and we are excited to use our platform to support the grassroots industry."

As part of this exciting new partnership, ACC will also have a permanent stand inside HMV.
