An artisan bakery with branches across East Anglia has claimed a top prize in the national cake awards.
The salted caramel and almond brownie created by Two Magpies Bakery was crowned Britain’s Best Cake at a ceremony in Birmingham on Monday, April 29.

The winning brownie stood out amongst more than 130 products at the awards which aims to discover the best sweet creations from bakeries across the UK.
It received top marks from the judges for its flavours and textures, as one critic said: “The roasted nuts really cut through the richness, having that crunchy nut on the top really balanced it out.”

Steve Magnall, CEO and owner of Two Magpies Bakery Group, said: “We are incredibly proud of our team for creating such a decadent and delicious brownie that wowed the judges.”

Opening in Southwold 12 years ago, Two Magpies Bakery now operates ten sites across Norfolk and Suffolk.
