An opening date has been announced for a new north Norfolk bistro.

Friends Bistro will open in the Seaview building in Cromer's North Lodge Park on May 30.

The licensed bistro, run by the charity About With Friends, will serve locally sourced food and drink and employ adults with learning disabilities.

The project has been more than a year in the making after plans were first submitted in March last year.

The front of the building was previously North Lodge Park Tea Rooms, and later North Lodge Café - which was only open for six weeks in the summer of 2022.

It has now been transformed into a bistro, café and tearoom - with the tearoom already open to the public.

The bistro will be staffed by qualified chefs and caterers, who will teach members of the charity with learning disabilities culinary and hospitality skills to help them achieve qualifications of their own.

It will cater for 30 to 35 covers, but this number is subject to change depending on how many covers members of the charity can manage.
