Former Norwich City loanee Brandon Williams has appeared in court to deny dangerous driving after he was involved in a crash.

The defender, who played 26 times for the Canaries during the 2021-22 season, will stand trial after pleading not guilty to two driving offences.

The 23-year-old, who is currently on loan at East Anglian rivals Ipswich Town, is accused of driving an Audi A3 S Line on the A34 Ainslie Way in Wilmslow in a dangerous manner on August 20, 2023.

The full-back, who has made 51 appearances for his parent club Manchester United scoring one goal, appeared at Chester Crown Court on Friday where he denied both dangerous driving and driving without third-party insurance.

Williams, of Harpurhey, Manchester, will return to the court on the week commencing March 17, 2025, for trial.

His solicitors will deliver the grounds of his not guilty plea to the court in June.

Williams has been granted unconditional bail until the date of the trial.

A Cheshire police spokesman said: "At around 6.20pm on Sunday, August 20, 2023 police were called to reports of a collision on the A34, Wilmslow, near to Total Fitness.

"Officers attended the scene and found the collision involved a grey Audi and a Ford Fiesta.

"The driver of the Audi was arrested at the scene and later released under investigation.

"Brandon Williams, 23, of Manchester, was later charged with dangerous driving and driving without insurance."
