Painters, printmakers, modellers and more will feature at a Norwich fair celebrating illustration in its many forms that returns to the city next month.

Lookout Illustration Fair, an event showcasing more than 50 illustrators and makers, will be held at The Shoe Factory in St Mary's Plain on Saturday, May 4.

The fair will feature live drawing and making from creators on the day, and sketchbook displays will give attendees an insight into the process behind the work of the artists.

Portrait artist Mari-Ann Else will be live drawing portraits all day and Soodle Street will be hosting a free drop-in collage workshop inspired by architectural wonders from around the globe.

The first Lookout Fair was held last September in The Halls with around 600 people showing up to check out the art and discover their new favourite artists.

The event's organiser, Jodie Howard, 26, is an illustrator from Bury St Edmunds specialising in atmospheric prints and landscapes.

She chose to host the fair in Norwich due to its strong creative community and first started organising events after graduating from art school in Cambridge.

"I graduated during the pandemic so I was really craving a community feeling.

"Once things started opening up again, I began organising exhibitions and it's developed from there.

"I wanted to create events where artists could come together and connect but also have a place to show and sell their work."

Tickets cost £2.50 and are available now at lookoutillustrationfair.co.uk.

Pre-booking will enter attendees into a draw with a chance of winning a £25 voucher to spend on the day.
