A Norfolk studio has secured funding to expand its community offerings, including various cultural and entertainment activities.

That Little Norfolk Shop & Studio, managed by ClearCompany CIC, has been a lively hub in Wymondham and surrounding areas since it opened in December last year.

Events have included open mic sessions, Slowdown Sundays, art showcases, and private parties.

Having received £8,800 in funding from the UK government via the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the studio is primed to host a wider range of creative events tailored for its community.

Julie Briggs, ClearCompany director, said: “We are incredibly grateful for our award of Government Levelling Up funding to help us promote creative arts and inclusive community activities in a welcoming, friendly studio space.

"Funding from our local councillors and sponsors kick-started our venture but we still have work to do to make adaptations that meet the needs of our groups.

“This funding has enabled us to fit out the ground floor flexibly to be a shop offering local produce, art and crafts during the day, with the option of securing it in the evenings for groups who need ground floor space."

Given the additional funding, the studio will commence a monthly Games Cafe from May 4, welcoming all to take part in board games, Dungeons & Dragons, chess, cards, and game trials.

Additionally, Sound Cafe sessions will attract musicians and poets from around the area, transforming the venue into a vibrant cultural hub every third Saturday.

Slowdown Sundays, featuring yoga, mindfulness, craft sessions, and creative writing continue to offer visitors an opportunity to unwind.

Upcoming events include murder mystery days, bingo evenings, cocktail-making sessions as well as live performances from several music and comedy acts.
