A man has been jailed after breaching a court order not to contact or visit his grandmother.

Blake Aimes, 30, was made subject to a restraining order in June last year following a conviction for assault.

The 12 month order prevented him from attending the home of his grandmother and her partner in Hemsby.

However police were called by neighbours when he was seen visiting the property twice on April 15, Norwich Magistrates’ Court heard.

Rima Begum, prosecuting, said on one occasion he had left in a taxi but he was again seen returning later when he had been confronted by a neighbour and had smashed a number of plant pots.

Aimes, who has 90 previous convictions for 175 offences, pleaded guilty to breach of an order and criminal damage.

The court was told he had recently been released from prison.

In a statement his grandmother’s partner said they were “scared of him” and that they “can’t relax knowing he is out of prison”.

Magistrates jailed him for two months and ordered he pay £60 compensation.
