Hundreds of homes in north Norfolk were left without electricity after a power cut this morning.

UK Power Networks were made aware of the issue at 11.22 am after receiving reports that the power cut was affecting homes in the Blakeney area, near Holt.

135 customers were affected by the power outage at the time, spanning between Binham, Blakeney, Brinton and Weybourne.

The company estimated that the power would be back on in the area between 1pm and 2pm, depending on the work involved to resolve the issue.

Engineers made their way to the site to carry out investigations and redirected the power after discovering there was a fault on the electricity network.

Power was restored to homes and businesses in the area at 1.53pm.
