TikTok video shows man in Diss being accused of hitting dog

Ross Lee, 33, was in the town on Friday when he claimed he saw a dog owner hitting his pet outside the Time Out cafe and restaurant in Victoria Road.

He confronted the man about his treatment of the animal and the situation quickly escalated into an argument.

Mr Lee filmed the encounter and later uploaded it to TikTok where it has now had 2.5m views.

The video shows Mr Lee approaching the man while filming on his phone and saying: "If I see you hit that dog again I'm gonna f*****g hit you."

The dog owner moved closer to him as Mr Lee added: "Go on, hit the dog again now you're on camera, I dare you."

At one stage during the row, the owner protested: "It's my dog."

Mr Lee responded: "Don't hurt animals - look at you, you're disgusting mate".

The dog owner then made a homophonic remark towards Mr Lee.

Staff emerged from the cafe and suggested the dog owner and his party should leave.

"A couple of years ago I bought a puppy from a bad breeder and she was very ill and unfortunately passed away about a week later," he said.

"It was very traumatic and I was heartbroken.

"Seeing someone have a dog and intentionally hurt or mistreat it infuriates me - they are beautiful souls that need our protection."

A spokeswoman for Norfolk Constabulary confirmed officers interviewed the suspect on Sunday for two offences - a public order hate incident and causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.

Both instances remain under investigation.
