A Cromer-based theatre group, CSODS, has clinched regional awards for their acclaimed production of the musical, Evita.

The show bagged best musical and best overall production at the recent NODA East Awards, held on April 7.

This is the first time CSODS - Cromer and Sheringham Operatic and Dramatic Society - an amateur troupe, performed an Andrew Lloyd Webber spectacle in their 110-year existence.

The accomplishment feels more rewarding given that the production overcame many challenges, mainly that it was the group's first performance sung entirely without spoken words.

Ms Wright will now also take on the role of one of the three lead actresses in the upcoming performance, '9 to 5 - The Musical,' scheduled at Cromer Pier.
