A prolific shoplifter with hundreds of previous offences has admitted targeting Norwich stores to steal everything from sunglasses and shoes to a radio.
Keith Piggott, 67, struck at numerous city centre and riverside stores including John Lewis, Specsavers, Mountain Warehouse, B&M and the Co-Op.
His thefts between August and December last year included a wide range of items stolen to sell but he had most often taken alcohol, Norwich Magistrates’ Court was told.

On one occasion on October 6 he had been confronted by security staff at B&M attempting to walk out of the store with bottles.
His other shoplifting expeditions were uncovered when he was identified from CCTV footage.
He pleaded guilty to eight charges of shop theft.
The court was told he had 56 previous convictions for 150 offences.
Annette Hall, mitigating, said he had been homeless for long periods but that he now had supported accommodation and was receiving help to “sort his life out”.
Magistrates made him subject to an 18 month conditional discharge and ordered he pay compensation to the stores.
