A pub called the White Horse has got the go-ahead to return to its original colour after eight years of being blue.

The 18th century pub at Holme, near Hunstanton, had been white-washed as its name suggested for around 300 years.

But in 2016, its then owners were given the green light to paint it blue.

Now West Norfolk Council has agreed listed building consent for the pub to be turned white again, before it reopens next month.

New owners Anglia Country Inns (ACI) have also got the go-ahead to enlarge the car park and create a new access onto the site, off Kirkgate in the middle of the village.

Villagers were concerned views of the car park would spoil the surrounding setting.

But ACI said it would be screened by rebuilding a wall demolished some years ago.
