A toy shop that has been in Great Yarmouth for 40 years is “exploring” the option of closing down.

Kerrison Toys is looking into closing its store in King Street after a "tough couple of years" following the coronavirus pandemic.

Stephen Kerrison, who owns the Yarmouth branch and a store in Norwich, said he is "gutted" and "disappointed" to have to explore the closure.

"We are currently showing the building and seeing what the future holds,” he said.

"We have battled away for two or three years since the pandemic and the summer trade is not what it used to be.

"There have been good and bad times but recent years have been very difficult.

"It is a sad time and we don't know what else to do.”

Kerrison Toys also has a shop in Aylsham Road in Norwich which has been open for nearly 65 years and is “stronger than ever” according to Mr Kerrison.

He added: “We have great toys and the biggest range in the area.”
