Hundreds of homes in south Norfolk were left without electricity after a power cut yesterday.

UK Power Networks were made aware of the issue affecting homes in the Attleborough area after several reports at 9.40am on Thursday.

308 customers and four postcode areas were affected.

Engineers attended the site, carrying out investigations into the fault.

The company estimated the power would be back on between 11am and midday but the issue was not resolved for all customers until 8.44pm.

The cause of the power cut is believed to be due to a high voltage overhead electricity line.
