East Coast College has announced four new governors.

The institution has welcomed the expertise of Dame Vicki Paterson, Graham Evans, Rachel Kirk and Joe Rahman to bolster their governing authority.

The responsibilities of governors are significant, providing both support and a robust challenge to stimulate the college's growth and ambitions, and in setting the strategic direction.

Ms Kirk, Dame Paterson and Mr Evans will be part of the Quality and Standards Committee and Mr Rahman will sit on the Finance and General Purposes Committee.

Each of them bring to the board immense experience from diverse fields such as education, energy, and manufacturing industries.

Dame Paterson, an experienced educator and a proud recipient of the Damehood for Services to Education in 2013, has a portfolio of contributing to local and national school improvement strategies.

Mr Evans, having spent more than three decades as a specialist in oil and gas fluid control systems, is currently motivating students to consider engineering careers in his role as STEM ambassador.

Ms Kirk, with a history in further and higher education, has now shifted gears to become a freelance educational consultant.

Mr Rahman is recognised for his emphasis on collaboration, continuous improvement, and sustainable growth.
