A Norfolk pub with two AA Rosettes was unable to open for dinner service this evening due to a power cut affecting its entire village.
The Angel at Watlington, located between Downham Market and King's Lynn, shared the news on its Facebook page this afternoon.
In a statement, the pub's owners, Richard Crouch and Emily Phipps, said: "Unfortunately due to the power cut covering the whole village due to the issue with the overhead cables we are not going to be able to open this evening.

"Without electricity, we can’t run the gas to cook with as the extraction won’t allow it and we also can’t access the till and the card machines won’t function.
"We are so sorry to have to make this decision but we know teams from UK Power Networks will be working hard to fix the problem."
The village's power was restored at around 5.30pm, but the pub's owners were told it would go down again later this evening when the electricity was rediverted.
Bookings for later this week are currently being taken via The Angel's Facebook page while its telephones and answering machines are down.
