Norwich Market has welcomed a new pop-up selling candles, skincare and grooming products for men.

Man Cave Scents won the market pop-up stall in a competition and will keep the spot until April 7.

The brand was created by married couple Daniel and Zoe Shakes in a bid to remove the stigma around men's self-care.

Mr Shakes said: “Lots of men really enjoy candles, diffusers and scented products like that, but most of these products are marketed solely towards women.

"It’s not that men can’t buy those more ‘feminine’ candles, but there’s nothing actually made for that demographic."

He added women enjoy their products just as much, but said marketing them towards men adds a "twist" which is not often seen.

"Most of the scented candles marketed towards men are really gimmicky,” he said.

“Like, bacon, farts, 'sport' scents, all those things.

"We’ve really tried to make scents that are genuinely enjoyable.”

Man Cave offers more traditionally masculine scents such as Cuban Tobacco and Oak, but also offers sweeter variations including Cappuccino One Sugar, Apple Strudel and Life is Sweet - a caramel candle.

Mrs Shakes added: “We love experimenting - we’re always trialling new scents and products, having a great time with it.

"It’s such a joyful process, bringing our ideas to life and seeing the happiness they bring to people.”

Man Cave can be found on Stall 12 at Norwich Market between 1pm and 7pm on weekdays until April 7, with an earlier start on weekends and the Easter bank holiday.
