An award-winning Norfolk farm shop will undergo a major expansion after a successful first three years in business.

The Goat Shed opened at Fielding Cottage, which makes its own goat's cheese, in February 2021 after a £250,000 investment and it now also boasts a thriving restaurant.

The business, located off the A47 between Dereham and Norwich, has won several accolades, including 'Rising Star of the Year' at the Farm Retail Awards 2023.

Farm owner Sam Steggles has now revealed plans to open a bigger deli, a new butchery and a bakery counter in the neighbouring barn - previously used to house a Christmas market.

The work is expected to be completed by late June or early July 2024 and the current deli will become kitchen space.

Mr Steggles said: "We will have a bigger deli, which will include a lot more local cheeses, homemade sausage rolls and summer salads.

"We will also have a butchery with our own beef and the bakery section will offer fresh bread and pastries.

"We asked our customers what they wanted to see at the farm shop and we have listened."
