Police were called to a disturbance in the city centre this afternoon after shoppers reported a man they said was shouting and being aggressive.
Eyewitnesses said the man was tussling with members of the public on the pavement on St Stephens Street, outside WHSmith and Yours, a women's clothing store.
When officers arrived at the scene at around 4pm, the man tried to hide inside Yours.

Onlookers said the man threw an unidentified liquid over one officer outside the store and was sprayed with CS gas before being taken away in a police van.
Following the incident, more officers were seen in Yours, where staff were questioned.
A police spokeswoman confirmed the man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage but was unable to comment on any further details.
