A teenage food delivery rider turned amateur sleuth to track down the thief who stole his £1,000 electric bike from outside McDonald's.
The 17-year-old IT student confronted Jevon Timbers after spotting his stolen bike advertised for sale on Facebook Marketplace.
Norwich Magistrates’ Court was told he had been working when his bike had been taken from outside McDonald's on Hay Hill in Norwich on February 12.
Hannah Butler, prosecuting, said he had contacted the Facebook seller after seeing it advertised.
“He posed as a buyer to arrange a meeting and confront them. When he was sure it was his bike he called the police,” she said.

Timbers, 39, of Southwell Road in Norwich, pleaded guilty to theft of a pedal cycle and possession of cannabis.
He has 29 previous offences including theft and drugs, the court was told.
Julie Adams, mitigating, said: “He was walking past and saw the bike. It was an opportunistic theft as he was of very limited means and needed the money.”
Magistrates gave him a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered him to pay £96 costs.
