Plans for a new home on "an infill plot" in a rural village have been turned down.
A developer named in planning papers as Mr Clark applied for outline permission to build a new house in the grounds of an existing property at Runcton Holme, near Downham Market.
A planning statement said the site, between 104 and 106 School Road, was "an infill plot", with two-storey dwellings on either side.

Runcton Holme Parish Council did not object and there were no objections from neighbours.
But a planning officer's report said the site was situated within the open countryside and "outside of any defined settlement boundary".
In its decision notice, West Norfolk council said: "In principle the proposed development would lead to a new dwelling house within the open countryside without satisfying any exception under extant local policy."
