A woman banned from calling police unless in a genuine emergency repeatedly breached the order by phoning to complain about her neighbours.

Anne Egglestone, 60, has previously been jailed for making abusive calls to the police control room and was made the subject of a court order banning her from dialling 999 except in a real emergency.

But Egglestone made further calls to the force complaining about her neighbours and about the police in general, putting her in breach of a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).

Norwich Crown Court heard Egglestone made calls to the police on December 14, December 19 and December 21, during which she was asking to speak to a police officer.

She also told a call handler she wanted to "speak to your supervisor", saying the official could not spell.

The court was told Egglestone, of Spinney Close, Thorpe St Andrew, had made a total of 10 calls putting her in breach of the CBO made by city magistrates.

The prosecutor said by repeatedly calling the emergency services she ran the risk that genuine emergencies would not be responded to.

Egglestone, who has 19 previous convictions for 74 previous offences, admitted a total of 15 breaches of the CBO which happened between July 29 last year and December 23 last year.

Andrew Oliver, mitigating, said she has admitted repeated calls to police which she was prohibited from doing.

He said she did appear to be "genuinely contrite" and recognised her "poor mental health has played a part in her offending".

Mr Oliver said Egglestone, who suffers from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression, concedes she had become frustrated and lost her temper but had accepted her wrongdoing as a result of her guilty pleas.

Imposing an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, Recorder Nicola Fitches said Egglestone had committed "repeated breaches" of her CBO but did take her mental health issues into account.

Egglestone was also ordered to do 20 days Rehabilitation Activity Requirement (RAR) and a 12-month mental health treatment requirement.
