A villager has applied for permission to build a wind turbine in his back garden.
Andrew Carey has applied to West Norfolk council for a lawful development certificate to install a "small micro-generation turbine" behind a house on St John's Road at Tilney St Lawrence, near King's Lynn.
He says in his planning application: "I propose to install a small 600w wind turbine unit on a column approximately 7m from any adjoining boundaries and 50m from my residential property on the site.

"Due to the size of the microgeneration system, I believe this comes under the permitted development scheme."
Planning papers say the turbine would not exceed 11m in height and would be supported by a concrete base.
A decision from the council, is expected later this year.
