A key city road will close later this month so that resurfacing work can take place.

Repairs to a section of Plumstead Road in Thorpe End is due to begin on March 20.

The works, which will take place west of the level crossing for 330 metres, and 20 metres east of the crossing, will see the damaged and worn-out road surface removed and replaced.

The closure of the road and cycleway will be in place between the hours of 7.00am to 6.00pm each day and the works are expected to take three days to complete.

A fully signed official diversion route for vehicles and bus routes will be in place via Woodside Road, Salhouse Road, Broadland Northway (A1270), and Thorpe End Drive.

There will also be a diversion for cyclists using Broad Lane, Green Lane E, Salhouse Road, Broadland Northway Roundabout, Salhouse Road, and Woodside Road.

Access to properties within the closure will be maintained but there could be short delays at times.

The work, which will cost approximately £85,000, will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community and Environmental Services Department and their contractors.
