A new kebab and pizza shop has opened its doors to customers on the city's outskirts and hopes to serve up some sourdough delights.

Called the Mighty Crust, the eatery recently opened up in the Fieldfare Way row of new shops in the Queen's Hills estate in Costessey, next to the Co-op.

After an investment of around £100,000, the shop offers a range of sourdough pizzas, loaded fries and fried chicken, as well as kebab and barbecue dishes.

Aby Bowman is the manager of the shop and is working with owner Hakan Yildiz.

Aby, 39, said: "We got the keys in October last year and opened last month.

"Business has been great so far - people living in the area haven't had anything here for a while so we were so excited to get settled in.

"It's been a long process to get everything up and running but we wanted it to be perfect before we opened up.

"I think it’s lovely inside, really modern, so it doesn’t look quite like a normal kebab shop.

"It’s a good place to come in and put our stamp on.

"The surrounding area is nice and it seems like there's a tight-knit community here, so we're really looking forward to becoming a part of that."

Aby believes the supermarket chain's presence has already helped draw in customers.

She added: "I think something like the Co-op being nearby is good for us as well as it gives us some exposure being next door.

"It's a great location and we hope to see many more people coming in to try our food soon."
