Roads remain closed in King's Lynn after seven people were arrested following a brawl which left a man seriously injured. 

Police and ambulance services were called to the fight which took place at 4am on Sunday in Littleport Street.

One man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital before being transferred to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries. 

He is currently in a stable condition.

Road closures have been in place since Sunday morning while enquiries take place including the A148 Gaywood Road junction with Loke Road and Austin Street to Littleport Street out of town towards Gaywood.

Diversions are in place and a police cordon remains at the scene.

Five men in their 20s and two women, one in her 20s and one in her 30s, were arrested on suspicion of assault and were taken to King’s Lynn Police Station for questioning where they remain.

Detectives are investigating whether the fight is linked to two other assaults in King’s Lynn over the weekend.

At around 4pm on Saturday, a man was assaulted in the Millfleet Court area and at 8am on Sunday, a male was assaulted in Blackfriars Road.

Both victims suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital.

Detective Inspector Niky Greenacre said: “We are exploring if the incident on Littleport Street is linked to two other incidents in Kings Lynn over the weekend.

"It is important to say that we not looking for anyone else in connection with these incidents and believe them to be isolated incidents. There is no wider risk to the public”
