An independent boutique and crafts retailer has expanded into a derelict building to help regenerate a “lost” area.

GG's Treasures and Support Local Hunstanton can be found at Beach Terrace and houses more than 30 local and independent crafters, makers and artisans.

Owned by Lucy Johnson, it offers a varied collection of women's clothing, homeware, gifts and cards and is also home to the Em's Den café.

Following a successful first year in business, Ms Johnson decided to expand by knocking into the premises next door which had been left derelict for years.

“We opened last year and we did so well that we decided to knock the wall down and expand into the empty shop next door,” she said.

"This area has been 'lost' for many years as the shops have been empty, so we decided to regenerate the area, the landlord has helped with resurfacing which allows us to have seating outside for the café customers on sunny days."

Hunstanton Town Mayor Mike Ruston, who attended the grand opening on February 17, added: "I cannot believe the transformation of this area of our town and Lucy and her team have done an amazing job."
