A scrapped scheme for young people battling eating disorders has been revived after two years.

The Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is relaunching its eating disorders forum for young people two years after it was discontinued.

Previously known as the eating disorder ambassador group, the scheme encourages young people and their parents to share their experiences of eating disorder care.

The scheme was discontinued in 2022, but the trust is now seeking people to get involved to help shape services in this increasingly challenging area.

Lucy North, who is heading up the scheme, said: "Involving young people and carers is essential for creating people-centred, inclusive and effective services.

"Their lived experience offers unique insights into the challenges and preferences throughout their treatment and recovery."

The forum will be held online every month and will be open to people aged 25 and under, who will be encouraged to offer feedback on the support the trust offers.

Ms North added: "By sharing their insights, concerns and suggestions, the young people and their families will help identify areas for improvement, address gaps in service and advocate for changes that prioritise their wellbeing and recovery journey."
